My momma has hated CMB for a hot minute, so she is pretty LIVID about her running for mayor.

Sidenote: I’m pretty sure CMB is being interviewed by my childhood hero Carol Marin, who is like, one of the baddest bitches around.

Political Ad of the Day: Illinois Governor Pat Quinn enlists the help of Glee’s “what you missed” voiceover shtick to poke fun at gubernatorial election rival Bill Brady.

• The first time I met Governor Quinn was at work event I thought would consist of me consuming free apps and booze. Instead I scurried about trying to find a photographer cuz THE F-ING GOVERNOR showed up. (Bonus: I was wearing clothes one of my co-workers found under her desk.)
• Pat Quinn and Rod Blagovjevich were NOT smiles times.

Terrible Typo of the Day: On the electronic voting machines in a number of Chicago’s predominantly African-American wards, the name of the Green Party gubernatorial candidate is accidentally spelled “Whitey” instead of “Whitney.”

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

The city election board plans to post a “candidate-neutral” list at polling places, showing the correctly spelled names of all candidates on the ballot, Allen said.

The snafu, however, has Whitney contemplating legal action to force a fix.

“I don’t want to be identified as ‘Whitey.’ If this is happening in primarily African-American wards, that’s an even bigger concern,” Whitney told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I don’t know if this is machine politics at play or why this happened.”

The best part? His first name is Rich.
